pure fiction

Some people here know me as The Kro, whereas others refer to me as Fakhri. Here's a little something about these two fellas.

From our very first album, Retrospective, I have been referring myself as The Kro and I continue to refer myself as that to people I meet within the music industry. I also get called by that name occasionally by my friends and family; the selective few who enjoy our music and respect it.

Going by that name, however, is seen as a change. Perhaps a change of looks and personality, but whatever it is, a change nonetheless. These are changes that may not necessarily be welcomed by those who knew me as Fakhri. Those who have spent most of their time with me when I was never busy in the studio.

The Kro just seems to have an increasing amount of musical commitments nowadays and obviously that requires more sacrifices. Sacrifices that Fakhri never had to make before. For example, Fakhri was never couped up in a studio for a whole day. Fakhri always had time for a chat on the phone or a spontaneous lunch outing. Now, he just seems too damn busy for anything. That's the change.

Here's how I see it though, The Kro isn't a different person, it's not even me. It's an alias I use when I'm on tracks or on stage. It's merely a name, a brand name I use to sell my product. Right now, I'm The Kro because I need to promote Micbandits and help it reach its optimum potential. And until my tasks are complete with Micbandits, only then will I not go by that name anymore.

What you need to really understand is.

The Kro is pure fiction. Don't get it twisted.
