Tiga puluh sembilan
Just wish to clear a few things up regarding Micbandits and Kartel Records.
A few weeks ago I sent www.malaysianemcee.com a copy of our Of Mics and Men album so the dude who runs it, Emcee David, can check it out and maybe even give it a review. David, it turns out, works alongside Joe Flizzow to manage and promote the Kartel record label based in KL. He hits me up saying he likes our material and is interested in helping out with things like cd distribution etc. I hit em back saying we'd love to collab with KL rappers during the summer, most probably by flying over to KL for a few weeks to get some tracks done. David calls me up and we talk about a possible deal with Kartel, and so I decided to schedule a get together so me, kro and david can sit down and talk more about business.
So in Cardiff, we talked more about working under Kartel records, which by itself sounds really promising. David gives us lots of info on what can and might happen if we signed on the dotted line so to speak. We'd be a part of the Kartel roster, they'll provide studio/mixing/mastering, establish the Micbandits brand name and last but not least get money. So informally, we agreed with plenty of time to consider everything. David's a real chill dude and as we all got to know more about each other and our interests, it made sense that we take up the opportunity since this could very well our big break.
The deciding factor of course is that first move; to go to KL and meet up with the head honcho himself Joe Flizzow.
While all sounds fine, this will be a very big decision for all of us and we really need to think this through. Once in Brunei, i forecast days of soul searching, rhythm and poetry, and we'll confirm our next move as soon as we think we're ready.
But in the mean time, i really can't make any promises. Well except one, whatever happens, ain't nothing stopping the bandits from touching the mic.
ps. Yo Khaos, they want a track thats for everyone. Just one hit and we got this.
